Field Improvement Project
GAL is excited to announce a field improvement project in coordination with the City of Minnetonka. GAL is looking to upgrade our softball facility:
- New 6 ft fences surrounding the entire field
- Higher fences are better for our outfielders
- Current fences block sight lines for our fans
- New batting cages in the outfield
- Existing cage is falling apart
- Artificial turf in batting cage
- Dual cages if space allows
- New scoreboard
- Updated electronics and scoring
- New placement alongside batting cages
This estimated $100,000 project is dependent on a few fundraising efforts to be successful. GAL and the City of Minnetonka will be applying for matching funds from the Hennepin County Sports Program and the Minnesota Twins to cover half the cost of this project. The City of Minnetonka is requesting budget money to cover another portion and is asking GAL to raise $15,000 to be put toward this project.

Fundraising Efforts
GAL is scheduling many fundraising events this season. Information will be shared here and on social media.
Fundraisers scheduled:
- Tuesday, March 21: Unmapped Brewing will donate a portion of proceeds from full pours and non-alcoholic drinks, and Gina Maria's Pizza (Minnetonka) will donate 15% of pizza sales! Eat, drink and support GAL from 6 p.m.-close.
